Frank Oest

 In Memory of Frank Oest
( by Glen LaBlanc in 1995 )

The Capital District wedding industry lost a well known entertainer,
Mr. Frank Oest.  Frank as everyone calls him had been entertaining
the capital region for over ten years.  He is certainly missed by his family,
friends, loved ones, his peers, and especially his son, Kristopher.

Frank was born in Malone NY.  He also worked in the food brokerage
industry for fourteen years with McDermott Food Brokers.

He started his disc jockey career in the early 80s.  As a frequent patron
of The Rafters Night Club in Saratoga, he soon became interested
in spinning vinyl.  Shortly thereafter, Entertainment Today was
formed along with Tom Lewis, Bill Bryne, Andy Chioffi, and Frank.

In March 1986, Frank involved ETI in a dance marathon in
South Glens Falls raising funds for local charitable causes.
Frank remained directly involved with the dance marathon ever since.

At the end of 1992, due to health reasons, Frank semi-retired from entertaining,
and from McDermott.  His untimely passing has left a legacy with anyone
who knew him on a personal or business level.

His favorite dance tune was “Born To Be Alive” by Patrick Herandez.
It goes without saying that the short time Frank was on this earth,
he certainly lived by the song to the fullest extent possible.
We will miss you.
